Challenge: Offering the Ultimate Guest Experience While Operating Outdated Technology
Before partnering with Embed, one of Fun Land’s ongoing challenges was providing a superior guest experience while operating on outdated business technology. Clint Novak, General Manager, knew the limitations of their technology were impacting their guest experience. “The guest experience is the aspect that I concentrate on the most because I’m a guest everywhere else I go,” Novak said. “I try to bring my experience elsewhere back to the park and improve how we’re doing it.”
Novak knew it was time to make a change and decided to partner with Embed because of the enhanced technology and integration with CenterEdge. Fun Land partnered with Embed for its hardware and software solutions that include kiosks, game card readers, game cards, and RFID technology-enabled wristbands.
Solution: Leveraging Technology and Industry Partnerships to Enhance and Refine Guest Experience
Because of Embed’s partnership with CenterEdge, Fun Land can now utilize the best of both worlds and create a more powerful tool that helps enable their guests to more easily navigate the park, enhancing their guest experience.
One of the most valuable features that Fun Land takes advantage of is the RFID wristbands from Embed. “The wristbands set us apart from the pack because no one is utilizing this technology in the way that Fun Land is,” Novak said. “After we got the system up and running, we saw a huge uptick in people coming to the park and their ability to use the system.”
It’s easy for Fun Land to incorporate innovative solutions and customize them to meet the demands of their growing business because of the integration of Embed and CenterEdge. CenterEdge’s online sales portal offers guests the convenience of purchasing game cards or wristbands online. Once at the park, Embed’s wristbands make it easy for guests to tap and go, with no time wasted standing in lines or a complicated process for getting their online purchase. Fun Land has simplified the card reader’s experience by setting them on dollar amounts instead of a complicated point system, offering transparency to the guest. They took that a step further by displaying QR Codes on the reader that guests can scan and quickly reload their card from their phone.
Solution Highlights:
- 210 smartTOUCH Readers
- 2 emONE Kiosks
- RFID Wristbands
- Interface with CenterEdge

Increased Sales, Idea-Sharing and Advancement of the Family Entertainment Industry
Since partnering with Embed, Fun Land has fine-tuned their guest experience and created a custom-tailored experience for everyone visiting their location. Because of the partnership between Embed and CenterEdge, Fun Land has clear visibility into their business health and can extract valuable data and insights to readjust accordingly – and the numbers don’t lie.
Before utilizing the Embed system, their previous technology received less than 10% of Play Value sales through the kiosk, but Embed’s Kiosk has increased their Play Value sales to over 50%. In 2019, Fun Land saw over 100,000 wristbands circulate through their location. With Embed and CenterEdge’s integration, Fun Land can sell cards and wristbands online, earning over $200,000 in online sales in 2019.
After partnering with Embed and CenterEdge, they realized many other family entertainment centers are using the same integration – and so their network was born. They’ve shared and received ideas, enabling Fun Land to utilize the system to its maximum potential. “It’s all about networking,” Novak said. “Talk to people, ask people questions. I will talk to everyone because we all want to be strong.”
